Lightweight rollators are simply rollators with a lighter frame, usually made of aluminium. They are still strong, sturdy rollators but the lightness of the frame can help make them a little easier to move.
These are lighter than the standard rollators, making them a little easier to move around - handy if you will need to be able to lift and store your rollator in a cupboard or in the boot of a car. However, even though the frames are lighter, support isn't sacrificed and they're still a great option to consider if you're looking for a little extra help when getting around.
If you think you may find it difficult to push a standard rollator, a lightweight one could be a better option as you need less force to move it along.
The fact these rollators are lightweight doesn't mean they're without features. There are options available with a seat (should you need to take a rest while walking). Some may have a bag or basket as well and there are other options that come with both a seat or a basket, so you can find one that suits your unique requirements.
If you choose a lightweight rollator with a seat, please make sure that you put on the parking brake before sitting down on it. This is to help prevent the rollator from rolling away from you when you're trying to sit down.
