Rollators - 3 Wheeled

3-wheeled rollators are typically more manoeuvrable than other rollators thanks to their smaller turning circle, making them handy when you need to get around in narrow spaces. They're a great option when popping to the shops as often they come with a bag or storage solution attached, so there's no need to carry an additional bag with you. Lightweight aluminium rollators are available too, with cable brakes for ease of stopping and some of them even have a seat included, so you always have somewhere to rest. 3-wheeled rollators are a type of rollator design where instead of having four legs, they only have three, creating a nippier and more manoeuvrable rollator.

3-wheeled rollators tend to be narrower than 4-wheeled rollators, which can be useful if your hallways are a little on the narrow side or your favourite corner shop has narrow aisles.

If you are at all concerned as to whether or not your chosen rollator will fit in your home, make sure to check the width measurement and measure your doorways and garden gate (if you have one) to check it can pass through easily.

Someone who needs the support of a rollator to get around but doesn't need to rest occasionally when walking, may find a 3-wheeled rollator useful. This is because 3-wheeled rollators don't have seats included, due to the frame design, so if you tire when walking and occasionally need a rest, this may not be the right rollator type for you.

You may also benefit from this type of rollator if you're in need of one that is lighter, more manoeuvrable, and narrower than the standard rollator type (be sure to check the measurements of it before purchasing).

3-wheeled rollators aren't as stable as a 4 wheeled version, so if you are already unsteady or have tremors you may want to consider a 4-wheeled rollator.

It's also worth remembering that after unfolding your 3-wheeled rollator you need to secure the locking bar to stabilise it before using it.
